Robert Brownlee, a straight A Newnan High School senior, originally came to CEC for its “shorter days” but now appreciates its many more career opportunities.

While attending CEC, he has focused primarily on two elective fields, Aviation and Broadcasting. Brownlee enjoyed the drones and ironically, says knowing about how they work helps him with his broadcasting. He has been in broadcasting and has had an interested in it ever since he took it for the first time his sophomore year, his video mentor, Michael Britt, gave him the well-known title “knucklehead.”

Following graduation, he plans to attend Full Sail University where he will pursue a degree in Digital Cinematology which is the art and creation of digital video content. Prior to graduation, Brownlee has used his video experience to find a job working Tim Stout & Associates, Keller Williams Realty Atlanta Partners. Brownlee works as a Video Marketing Specialist, producing high-quality videos promoting current houses on the market.

When he finishes college, he would like to work for Disney Cruise Line helping produce its Broadway-style shows; working for Disney would mean that he would be able to travel the world at the same time.

For the past year, Brownlee has been interning in the video production department at Lee Middle School here in town.  The experience has helped him “to have more respect towards teachers and to learn learned how good kids really can be when they truly put forth the effort.” Having this opportunity has shown Brownlee that if he doesn’t succeed in the film industry, he would like to become a teacher as a backup plan.

Brownlee credits his best friend Gavin McCarty, who made him realize that “You should take life one day at the time and how life can change in a heartbeat,” as well as his grandmother for being deep influences on his life and success.

Brownlee cherishes his family deeply and enjoys the time he spends with his family. He has one older sister Caitlen who is studying radiology at West Georgia Technical College with the hope of becoming an ultrasound technician.
